The best known of the DiscussIt courses is the International Writing Exchange or IWE, run totally on line SINCE 1993! It is suitable for groups of students in upper-secondary schools and universities, as well as for teacher trainees and self-study students. The courses run in the Spring and the Autumn, in six-week modules (2 in the Spring, and 2 in the autumn). Currently, our students are mostly undergraduates, but our courses are suitable for intermediate to advanced-level students of all ages. 

NOTE: Courses are free of charge, but only teachers and students who are prepared to commit themselves for at least 6 weeks are encouraged to join!!

The IWE offers a unique structured forum with international partners. The courses take place in the DiscussIt learning environment, which includes both synchronous (Skype) and asynchronous learning ( Moodle forums). Learners are motivated by having culture-to-culture, person-to-person interaction. This, together with peer-to-peer and teacher feedback, improves both their written and oral language skills. From January 2009 onwards, we can also search for new teachers with classes from the IWE social network and communicate with them at : http://onlinelanguageservices.ning.com/

Our courses are taught in groups in a user-friendly environment, by highly qualified local English teachers. Ruth Vilmi, the founder of the DiscussIt courses is listed in Who's Who in Instructional Technology.
